How to open a courier merchant account in Bangladesh: Pathao, Steadfast and Paperfly

A merchant account is what lets a courier pick parcels up from your shop, collect cash on delivery from your customers and pay that money back to you. Opening one takes a few details and an account to be paid into. Here is what Pathao, Steadfast and Paperfly say on their own pages, as read on 8 October 2026, about signing up and getting paid. Steps change, so follow the courier’s page if it differs.

What to have ready

Every sign-up below asks for your shop or business name, your own name, a mobile number and an email address. Use a number and an email you will keep: the courier sends codes and login details to them, and they are how you get back into the account.

You also need an account to be paid into, a bank account or a mobile wallet, and each courier accepts different ones. A website is not required: Pathao’s help centre says a Facebook Page or website “is not mandatory to join as a merchant”.

Pathao

Sign up at merchant.pathao.com/register. Pathao’s FAQ lists four details: the business name, the owner’s name, a mobile number and an email address. After you press “Sign Up”, it says, an SMS arrives with your login ID, password and the link to the merchant panel.

In the panel there are two more steps. First your store information: the store’s name, a contact person’s name and phone number, and the address. Then your payment method: a savings or current bank account, or a bKash account, and only a personal bKash account is accepted. After that you can request your first pickup.

On payouts, the FAQ on Pathao’s English courier page describes InstaPay, which sends payouts automatically in three cycles a day, and InstaPay On-Demand, which lets you withdraw your cash-on-delivery money whenever you need it to a Pathao Pay merchant account. Turning On-Demand on turns regular InstaPay off.

Pathao

Sign up at steadfast.com.bd/register. The form asks for a business name, your name, a mobile number, an email address, a pickup address and a password. A 6-digit code is sent to your phone and another code to your email, and entering both confirms them.

Steadfast’s terms add that after registration the account goes through a verification process, which “may include phone calls, document submission and validation of the business address”, and that you are told by email or phone once it is active. So keep your phone close for the first few days.

Payment is something you ask for. The terms say only the merchant can request payment, through the merchant panel, to a bank account or to bKash, Nagad or Rocket, with cash at the head office and some hubs, and that you can choose to be paid on a set day of the week. The home page advertises “next-day payout”.

Paperfly

Paperfly’s home page has a “Register Now” button for merchants but does not list what the sign-up asks for. On payment it promises “Guaranteed merchant payment within 24 hours of the delivery”.

Pathao

RedX’s website did not open for us when we read the others, so this guide does not describe its sign-up. Check redx.com.bd for its current steps.

After the account is open

Write the courier’s tracking number on each order as soon as you book it, so a customer who asks where the parcel is gets an answer at a glance.
